Applications - Pricing Pricing Pricing
Pricing is often one of the most difficult to implement and maintain applications in an organization. That's because it is specified as a collection of logical rules that are difficult to implement using conventional tools, and more difficult to maintain in the face of changing market conditions.
Pricing is one of the applications that Prolog does best. It's perfectly suited to Prolog's crisp, logical, goal seeking rules.
It's no wonder that many of the commercial applications of Prolog are precisely to implement pricing modules that:
- handle complex marketing and product configuration constraints,
- are maintained by the pricing experts and not programmers, and
- are easily updated and deployed with exceptional reliability.
How are the myriad configuration and pricing options of replacement windows and doors handled? Prolog.
How do some of the largest Internet based travel planning sites implement pricing and travel planning? Prolog.
How do some of the largest banks implement mortgage selection and pricing modules? Prolog.
